You will lead the design and implementation of advanced optical test stations for Mojo Vision’s microled platform.This role requires close collaboration with external partners and vendors to ensure seamless integration of custom optical components and scalable testing solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the simulation and modeling of advanced optical systems using Zemax/LightTools.
- Design real-world validation protocols to corelate simulation results with empirical measurement data.
- Manage strategic relationships with external vendors and partners to support fabrication, assembly, and testing of custom optical components.
- Design and deploy measurement stations for optical performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement automated testing solutions for optical and opto-electronic components using LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB, while crafting detailed verification plans and overseeing their execution to ensure system integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Mentor team members across disciplines, fostering technical excellence and collaborative execution.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support and advance government funding initiatives aligned with company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in designing optical systems and components.
- Expert level proficiency in optical simulation tools such as Zemax/LightTools.
- Demonstrated success in partner management, overseeing external vendors and collaborators throughout the full lifecycle of optical component development - from design and fabrication to testing and integration.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying measurement stations for optical performance evaluation.
- Prior experience leading test development initiatives for optical systems.
- Strong foundation in opto-mechanics, device physics and optical assemblies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, innovative, high-energy environment with challenging schedules and technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced skills in developing test automation software using tools such as LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
- Skilled in mechanical 3D CAD tools for opto-mechnanical design.
- Experience transitioning products from development to high-volume production.
- Familiarity with thermal modeling for optical and electronics systems.
- Strong relationship-building skills with external partners, vendors, and government agencies.
Salary Range: $188K/$200K/$224K
