Optoelectronic Test Technician, Color Conversion Technology

Mojo is pioneering a highly flexible, wafers-in, wafers-out micro-LED platform to unlock AI applications in multiple market segments. Built over nine years by our skilled engineers, our system-level process combines advanced 300mm silicon architecture with GaN-on-Silicon emitters, proprietary quantum dots, and micro-lens arrays to solve conventional trade-offs in size, brightness, bandwidth density, and power. Our scalable, manufacturing-ready approach enables breakthrough products such as AI glasses and next generation optical interconnects.

At Mojo, our team includes talented professionals with expertise in product design, user experience, applied physics, hardware, software, optics, photonics, electronics, chemistry, and vision science.

We are a startup founded by technology experts with decades of experience developing pioneering products and platforms backed by some of the world’s leading technology investors in Cupertino, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

This is a Technical Role with broad responsibilities across Mojo's core Color Conversion Technology, spanning testing, reliability, characterization, and test equipment for Mojo's LED micro display color conversion efforts. This position will interact with materials, processes, and devices, as well as with report generation and technology development that occur in response to that analysis.
Ideally, the person will:

  • Execute processes and characterization on quantum dot films, assemblies, and optical components to further the development of record-breaking color conversion technology.
  • Utilize and maintain custom test equipment to facilitate a deep, data-driven understanding of Mojo's materials and device performance and reliability.
  • Communicate that understanding across the various process modules and designs to drive the key activities that improve performance, yield, and reliability. This individual will be integral to the color conversion material synthesis, design, process, test, and reliability cross-functional team. They will be immersed in all aspects of the color conversion project.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with semiconductor and optoelectronic processes, equipment, design, and materials, and have extensive experience with optical and electronic test equipment for characterizing them. They will also demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new processes, thereby contributing to the company's understanding of the underlying mechanisms driving performance and failures.

The individual will also use custom software to collect, analyze, and store data in a relational database, and will contribute to analyzing and presenting the data to the process and design team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cross-group and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • AS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, and 5+ years working in optoelectronic and/or semiconductor device and materials testing, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently.

Level: Senior Technician

Hourly Rate: $55-$65 per hour based on experience
