Built over nine years by our skilled engineers, our system-level process combines advanced 300mm silicon architecture with GaN-on Silicon emitters, proprietary quantum dots, and micro-lens arrays to solve conventional trade-offs in size, brightness, bandwidth density, and power. You will help support the next-generation Data Communication Transceivers for AI infrastructure using Mojo’s unique technology.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- This is a senior technical position with broad responsibilities across Mojo Vision’s core Micro-LED device development program. The role encompasses process flow development, process integration, coordination with external fabrication partners, and collaboration with upstream and downstream teams to enhance device performance.
- As a fab-light company, Mojo Vision designs and fabricates devices through close partnerships with world-class fabrication, development, and equipment vendors, while executing select novel processes internally.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, fabrication, and characterization of Mojo Vision’s Micro-LED displays. Mojo Vision owns the device design and process flow and is accountable for supply and quality delivered to product customers.
- The ideal candidate will have deep experience in semiconductor and optoelectronic processes, equipment, design, and materials, along with a strong track record of managing technical relationships with external suppliers. They must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they escalate
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or 5+ years’ experience
- Experience with characterization of GaN/Si optical devices, particularly at high power density.
- Solid understanding of device physics and manufacturing processes related to GaN/Si epi and optical device fabrication and integration into systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, innovative, high-energy environment with challenging schedules and technologies.
- Proven hands-on experience in process development and integration within an industrial cleanroom environment.
- Familiarity with a wide range of semiconductor process modules, including: Lithography, Dry and wet etch, Deposition, Metrology, Plating, Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), Damascene processes
- Proficient in using and analyzing data from process equipment.
- Strong background in process control methodologies such as: Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA)
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify fabrication issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Fabrication experience with III-V devices, specifically uLEDs is preferred.
- Experience with layout tools, specifically dw-2000.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of optoelectronic III-V devices, with the ability to provide technical assessments and guidance.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 15%, based on program needs.
- Ph.D. preferred.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in optoelectronic and/or semiconductor device development.

Based on Experience:
Level: Principal Engineer Salary Range: $188K to $225K
Level: Distinguished Engineer Salary Range: $217K to $265K
